The world goes through crisis after crisis. Crises of various types: financial, economic, democratic, meaning, civilisation, religion, human, and so on.
In such a world, what place do arts and culture have?
Also, what role does culture play in societies? – and what role do creators and artists see for themselves?
At a time when we talk of globalisation, partners from the EUROMEDINCULTURE(s) Network believe that answers, if there are any, must be born of cooperation, exchanges, and broad-based debate involving people from various cultures and countries, and of different origins and religions.
The ARTS’ FORUM will provide the occasion to compare words, ideas, experiences and projects. These meetings will aim to enrich everyone for the good of all, to foster the emergence of common projects, the recognition of the place of arts and culture as a driving force in the progress of tomorrow’s societies, especially those undergoing democratic transformation.
In view of the aforegoing, partners of the EUROMEDINCULTURE(s) Network have given the first ARTS’ FORUM in Tunis the theme of “Democratisation by the Arts”.
It will be held from the 8th to the 10th of December, 2011, in the Golden Tulip Hotel in Tunis and will consist of the following:
