Since its inception, El-Funoun has aimed at expressing the spirit of Arab-Palestinian folklore and contemporary culture through unique combinations of traditional and stylized dance and music. The Troupe’s repertoire comprises folkloric dance forms, called “dabke”, in addition to more elaborate choreographed forms that embody El-Funoun’s own unique vision of Palestinian dance.
In reflection of the Arab spring, one afternoon over a cup of tea, the artists in this performance had a sarcastic discussion, many questions, fears, doubts… “that this spring is in fact going to be a long winter” . In this moment the idea of the production started, and we went each in his/her own way contemplating, observing and analyzing trying to determine and create an image of the future.
Il s'agit d'une incarcération volontaire: 8 jours, 11 heures par jour. Les thèmes sont : l'exil, le statut de l'artiste, le rôle du spectateur-voyeur. Un spectacle engagé, politique et artistique : "créer c'est résister!"
In jail during 8 days, 11 hrs a day. Thema are: exil, be an artist and survive, spectactors are looking for what? creating is resisting!

La lettera amorosa est un portrait de femme, une narration contemporaine transcendée par le souffle, traversée par le mouvement. Un moment de solitude, précieux par sa fragilité, éminemment nécessaire, dans lequel l’intime, les sons et les mouvements se mêlent en leur centre : le corps.

Ecocentric is an experimental performance that brings together dance, theatre and video artists from all over the world to consider the notion of mankind’s “homecoming” to the Earth. The play tells the story of nine contemporary women through allegory, fantasy, and postmodern wit.
